COURSE COMPLETION

Minimum 100% of the total hours have to be achieved and all programs have to be passed including the Graduation Exam in order to complete the course and it must be according to the course deadline.

The schedule and the Course deadline is determined at the beginning of the Course.

Finish in Malaysia first, then continue to Milan: the students are allowed to continue the program to study at IMB Milan after all the program studies in IMB Indonesia have been completed and passed.

Students must pass all the total lessons/hours taken in order to graduate and receive the Diploma Certificate.

Otherwise the students who have interrupted their studies will be charged at the current program tuition fee rate to complete the remaining total lessons/hours of the program required.

The students are allowed to continue the program to study at IMB Milan after all the program studies in IMB Malaysia have been completed and passed.

If the students fail to pass one of the programs (Fundamental, Compatible, Exclusive Class and Fashion Entrepreneur including Internship) and/or Graduation Exam in order to graduate and receive the Diploma Certificate the students has to repeat the program and will be charged according to the current program tuition fee rate.

If students want to upgrade course/lessons, they have to FINISH the current course.

For example, student A is currently taking a 90 hours special course. Student A wants to upgrade to a 150 hours special course. Student A has to finish her 90 hours of lessons until done (0 lessons left) and then she could upgrade to 150 lessons.

On the attendance list, the lessons of student A have to be finished first until 0 lessons, and then, the upgraded lessons can be added. Elements needed on upgraded programs are:

  • New lessons & hours added
  • Effective date of upgraded course
  • Extended deadline of upgraded course
  • A note on the side that the current student upgraded

Honesty, respect, and responsibility are essential traits of good character and are important to the learning process. The purpose of IMB  is to establish and uphold high expectations for student success both in academic work and in character development.

There is a direct correlation between regular school attendance and student achievement, therefore, it is critical that students always attend the classes and complete the courses as scheduled.

Our Institute, Istituto di Moda Burgo requires every student to be in attendance at school each day as scheduled and finish the Program as per their study’s deadline. The application of this regulation is also relevant to the students from the prior class/batch who have not yet graduated.

ATTENDANCE/ABSENCE

Any student missing (excused or unexcused) of the total program hours of any of one of these programs :

1. Fundamental Program (Fashion Design and Pattern Making )

2. Compatible Program

3. Exclusive Program (Textile, FDC, Digital Fashion, CLO 3D)

4. Fashion Entrepreneur Program (including Internship)

for any reason other than a school-initiated (principal approved) absence is considered failed and will not receive a certificate of diploma

In the event of an absence, a student must:

Bring a note from a doctor, note signed by a parent or legal guardian stating the reason for the absence(s), the date(s) of the absence(s), and any other pertinent information.

Present this note to the school assistant prior to the first period on the day the student returns to school. Absences are considered to be unexcused until a note is presented. Notes presented more than five days after the student returns to school WILL NOT be accepted.

DEFINITION OF ABSENCE

A student who is absent more than half a day (Morning lesson: arriving after 10:00 am or leaving before 11:00am), Afternoon Lesson: arriving after 2 pm or leaving before 3 pm) is considered to be officially absent for the entire Lesson . A student who misses more than 15 minutes of a class period is considered absent for that class.

A student WILL NOT be considered absent for the following reasons:

  • Field trip/Event, seminar or occasion initiated by the school
  • Hospital/homebound
  • Natural Disaster

Excused absences

  • Illness of student
  • Death in immediate family
  • Doctor or dental appointments
  • Family emergencies
  • Religious observance (holidays must be approved by the school management prior to the absence)
  • Court or administrative proceedings
  • Force Majure

Examples of unexcused absences (missed work, including exams, may be made at the discretion of the teacher/school management)

  • Traffic/car trouble
  • Inclement weather
  • Missing the bus
  • Oversleeping
  • Truancy
  • No written excuse within five days of absence

LEAVE OF ABSENCE

For Leave of Absence the student has to make a letter for leave of absence and should be addressed to the school Management. Leave of Absence is permitted only if the student already has the written permission from the School Management Principal. Excuses for Leave of Absence :

  • Leave of absence for Medical reasons: A reasoned request, including a medical certificate and or medical report where appropriate, should be addressed to the school management. Medical certificates should normally not be dated more than thirty days before the request for intermission is submitted. The certificate should specify the period of intermission that is pertinent to the request. Medical certificates and reports shall be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
  • Leave of Absence for parental/maternity: Students applying for parental or maternity leave may intermit their studies for a maximum of six months.
  • Leave of Absence for important projects/events: Students have to specify the project and event, with the total period of the intermission not exceeding more than 2 months/project or event.
  • Leave of Absence to continue study/thesis completion at another college or university: The total period of such intermission permitted to the student shall not exceed than 12 months
  • Maximum number of permission allowed is 20 times during the whole study program
  • Any permission request must include the replacement day of the class directly
  • Any Doctor letter/parent letter presented more than five days after the student returns to school WILL NOT be accepted
  • Students who missed school for 1 month in a row without applying on leave or without an acceptable reason will be considered as resigning

Students who cut class by leaving the Institute may not return to the Institute without a parent/guardian and should make an appointment with the School Management and bring bring a note from a doctor, note signed by a parent or legal guardian stating the reason for the leave of absence(s), the date(s) of the absence(s), and any other pertinent information.

Returning to the Institute after leaving without permission and without approval from the School Management will be considered trespassing.
